“Britta was the first medical personnel who heard me out and fought for me to receive a correct diagnosis….. Britta heard me out, believed me, thought outside of the box and fought for me. When you are being given the run-around, in pain and need help she is the type of person you want in your corner.”

Consulting with your Therapist

You and your therapist will get to know each other briefly. The two of you will converse on your understanding of the pelvic floor and its many functions. She will inquire about your unique history, symptoms, and concerns.

You will have the chance to “interview” your therapist, ask questions, get to know treatment styles. Please don’t hold back! You should feel 100% comfortable and informed before moving on from this step in the consultation. And if questions arise beyond this part of the discussion, please.. please.. please interject!

You’re here for a reason. As a therapist, the only way we can treat effectively is to know YOUR goals for treatment. What is important to you? This helps us make the fastest progress to treatment and keep you engaged throughout the therapy journey.

Once determined that PFPT is a fit, we will recommend a plan of care that aligns with your specific goals and needs. The first step in implementing your plan of care is scheduling your Initial screening and evaluation. Your therapist will help you do that before the call is over!

Your muscles down there don’t just tighten to tighten….

People can have pelvic floor dysfunction for several different reasons. That’s why spending a lot of quality time with the patient, interviewing and assessing, can help get to the root cause. The clinics I was working for were actually shortening appointment times to increase their bottom line! To be true to why I got into this profession, I knew I could not stand by and treat my patients that way any longer. I vowed to put their care first when the big clinics weren’t.”

Founder of Poised Pelvic Society

Meet Dr. Britta

Poised Pelvic Society was born with a commitment to life-altering relief for patients. A mother of two and former orthopedic specialist, Britta’s passion for pelvic health was ignited through conversations with colleagues in the Pelvic Floor specialty. It was these discussions and self-treatment that pushed her towards a pelvic health specialty. Dr. Britta quickly found that treating pelvic floor issues was a critical piece of the treatment puzzle, discovering the missing link in many chronic patients’ healing.
